- "This one caused me a lot of trouble."
- ― Epsilon-11 Unit
Operation Red Skies is the first Task Force operation, and was the only operation playable on release. The squad, designated Epsilon-11[1], clears out Site-19 of any hostile activity, whilst taking care of non-combatants along the way. It is the very first operation to be released.
Briefing[]
Operatives, your mission for today will be to secure the research facility Site-19. It's currently under siege by both an unknown hostile force and rogue Class Ds. We have to follow protocol, because of this, you will be given twenty minutes to secure the facility before this operation is halted. If you fail to retake the facility within the designated time, the site will activate its nuclear warheads as a last resort. This mission will then be considered a failure. You're going to have to restrain both foundation personnel and non-hostile Class Ds. Report all important information to me, I will be keeping track of your progress. CODENAME-##, this is your task force, you are responsible for everything. Don't let the foundation down.
Objectives[]
Initial[]
As aforementioned, the squad is responsible for securing the site of any threats and restraining non-combatants. The hostile threats are Chaos Insurgency and hostile Class-Ds.
Mission Update 1[]
Once the squad passes the decontamination chamber and heads to Dr. Atticus's office, OVERWATCH will tell the operatives that they are able to retrieve documents scattered around the facility. Although not required, it will improve the players' grading in the mission debrief.
Additionally, the squad will be tasked with flipping the lockdown sequence switch, located in the control room.
Mission Update 2[]
Since the control room is blocked by a pile of debris, the squad will have to go through the delivery sector in order to bypass the blockade. OVERWATCH will disclose that SCP-939 is contained within the site and will advise the squad to stay cautious. This is the first and only time the squad will encounter an SCP in the whole operation.
Once the squad has exited the delivery sector, they revert back to the first mission update, fulfilling it without trouble.
Development Updates[]
- As of the 14th of May 2021, /spawn has been added as a command for whenever you go out-of-bounds at operation start.
- The day after, an addition was been made where if a player chooses to leave the delivery sector elevator and go past the barricade, OVERWATCH will scold the player and tell them to not do it again.
- As of the 17th of May 2021, SCP-939 was made killable, with its walkspeed dependent on its current health. Additionally, shooting will now attract 939. The update also added another instance of SCP-939, bringing the total amount of SCP-939 instances to 2, and drastically altered the delivery sector's layout, reducing the number of paths to the exit to one.
- With the change of the layout, SCP-939 no longer can walk towards the lift, which was an issue in the past.
- As of the 28th of May 2021, a helmet flashlight has been added to the player's arsenal, allowing them to not worry about visibility in the delivery sector.
- The mission was going to get a remake after or before mission-7
Trivia[]
- Once you touch an invisible brick in front of the debris that's blocking the control room (after you pass Dr. Atticus's office), a monologue is triggered by OVERWATCH, telling you to find a way around, leading you to the lift that goes down to the delivery sector.
- During Operation Red Sky's development, the site was meant to be dark with the lights providing low visibility. The players' side attachment were for this reason meant to be the flashlight instead of the laser. This is shown in Archi's Evolution video and a screenshot posted in the Roman Entertainment discord server #task_force channel.[2][3]
- By the time the squad is in the Site-19 Maintenance Hall, a random player is selected to be the squad leader and is held responsible for everything that happens in the operation. Nothing about the squad leader is, however, ever mentioned later in the operation.
- If the squad runs out of time, OVERWATCH will declare the operation as a failure and order the squad to return to base with the same Blackhawk they got out of. The ending screen won't have the final score visible.[4]
- Dr.Atticus is reference to AtticusTec_h, a popular member of the Tec_h group founded by ArchiTec_h

- ↑ One of the player's lines of dialogue once they've restrained either an FP or an innocent CD mentions that the Task Force is Epsilon-11, and don't mean any harm. In later updates, this is made clear in the very beginning of the operation.
